Dave Malouf is currently the Head of Interaction Design at Rackspace Managed Hosting in Austin, Texas where he leads the interaction design discipline as part of Rackspace’s Experience Design team. Before coming to Rackspace, Dave was a professor of interaction design at the Savannah College of Art and Design. His career has spanned experiences from advertising agencies, to financial institutions to major consumer and industrial electronics companies.
The second half of his career has led Dave to focus on industrial and enterprise contexts and the immense challenges of designing for the special type of complexity, scale, and scope that only these types of contexts must manage.
Dave is a traveler, writer, speaker, teacher on many topics of design, but his current passions are focused on storytelling, building design cultures through a studio environment, and the importance of building a viable, scalable, and useful education system for current and future interaction designers. He is most proud of his role in helping to found the founders of the Interaction Design Association.
